Frequently asked questions
Can I use $BTN to buy/sell NFTs?
No, the marketplace runs on $STRAT, and you will need to hold some in order to use the NFT Marketplace. You will still need to hold at least some $BTN to pay for gas/txn fees.
How can I get $STRAT tokens?
You can buy $STRAT tokens using the Xenwave™ Convert tool. $STRAT often ranks among the most liquid tokens, so you should be able to convert your $BTN without any issues.
Why $STRAT and not $BTN?
We may implement support for multiple tokens and coins in the future, but $STRAT was the obvious choice for the marketplace due to its inherent compatibility with BTS21 and ERC20 tokens and contracts, making integration easier. It also makes sense to broaden the use-cases of $STRAT in our own platforms.
Why do I need to pay to list or to create an NFT?
Our platforms are mostly free-to-use, but in order to keep the project sustainable in the long-term, we need to have enough revenue to at least cope with the maintenance and infrastructural costs we incur while providing these services almost free of charge.
My NFT is not displaying properly. What should I do?
Because we use public IPFS gateways, at times the fetching of certain assets may take longer than usual or even timeout. This will not have any effect on your ownership or the NFT metadata on the blockchain. If you have just minted or bought your NFT, in most cases all you need to do is to be patient and wait a few minutes before trying to access your NFT again. In some cases there might be an issue with the URI of the collection in question, and if after waiting for a few hours your NFT is still not displaying correctly, you might want to get in touch with the NFT creator and troubleshoot with them.
What are royalty fees?
Royalty fees are fees paid to the NFT creator either directly or via a separate wallet/contract every time one of its NFTs is sold on the market. It is common practice in the NFT world, but it is certainly optional, and some NFT collections will have no royalties. You should be warry of any collections with royalties that seem too high (15% or above). These fees are deducted from the seller, meaning that buyers pay the exact listing price when purchasing an NFT in our marketplace, not the price plus royalties.
